Not sure whose fault it is, google or amazon, or probably a bit of both, but not having the YouTube tv app available on the FireStick is very disappointing, especially when it hurts customers. I originally bought 2 because I had Hulu and 2 Sony tv’s, one older and not as smart. But both of them didn’t offer Hulu Live TV apps. My newer Sony has the YouTube tv app, but the older doesn’t as it’s through yahoo apps that doesn’t seem to be supported any more.
Anyways, the Silk workaround gives you access to 1/3 of the content because it doesn’t scroll which seems to be in the design of the app and not Silk but I’m not sure. Firefox goes to a generic download page that links to google play store but it doesn’t work and I can’t figure out how to get past that screen so I haven’t been able to get that working.
I have an android box as well but it’s giving me an error for location services as it thinks I have cellular, gps and WiFi. Guess I need to call support.
I’ve also tried to side load but haven’t tried loading the google play files yet.
I just want a functional app for my second tv without having to buy a google cast with the apps for like $70. Not too much to ask huh?
Thanks, Paul
